Fostering caregiver well-being

Our Projects

Empowerment is a leading topic for professionals who provide services to families of children with hearing loss, yet many practitioners remain challenged with parental responsiveness and children’s progress in their learning and communication. The predicament of most parents living in limited resource communities and the complexity of a global hearing health and habilitation industry requires the traditional approach to parent supports must change. PGV’s Essential Programs to Coach and Empower takes a positive psychology approach while providing informational, social, and emotional supports to caregivers of children with hearing loss.

Historically, our programs have included In-country Visits and Assessments, Education and Training Missions, Parent Workshops, Consultation, United States based Training and Visitor Programs, and phone consults. We are grateful to over 70 volunteer partners and dozens of directors who served on the board. We are proud of our accomplishments and have helped hundreds of teachers and hearing health practitioners and thousands of parents in over three countries, ten schools for the deaf, and parent organizations focused on the ideals of aural/oral communication practices.
