Partners for A Greater Voice sponsored Misael’s first U.S. based training experience in April 2012. The agenda included learning experiences in Educational Audiology and Listening and Spoken Language. Misael’s week-long visit included meetings and discussions with Auditory Verbal Communication Center in Gloucester, The Learn Center’s Educational Audiology Outreach Program, Mass Commission for the Deaf Case Management, Department of Public Health Newborn Hearing Screening, Children’s Hospital Audiology, HEAR My Dreams parent support group, Holy Family Hospital Audiology, First Church Mission Group in Boxford, and Ipswich Lions Club. Partners would like to thank many volunteers for welcoming Misael and teaching him a variety of subject matter that expanded his understanding of educational and hearing health. As part of the Greater Voice requirements, Misael developed an Action Plan that incorporated his learning experience and knowledge. His projects are underway!

School Furnishings and Supplies shipping to the Dominican Republic

Supplies shipped to Instituto de Ayuda al Sordo Santa Rosa, Spring 2012

In cooperation with the Rotary Club of Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton Massachusetts and many other donors, Partners for A Greater Voice shipped a container of school furnishings and supplies to Instituto de Ayuda al Sordo Santa Rosa. Honorary Rotarian Orlando Vargas partnered with Greater Voice to coordinate the shipping of the container. Many other Rotarians joined in the effort to collect and prepare items for shipping. The school for the deaf in Santo Domingo expressed sincere graditude for this support. Onelia Aybar, Education Director of the schools states: “Esta donación de muebles y materiales para el preescolar nos viene como caída del cielo, pues las aulas de los más pequeños necesitan una inversión para hermosearlas, que el Instituto no ha podido hacer debido a las dificultades económicas que conoces. Así es que bienvenida sea la donación de Partners for a Greater Voice, es un excelente regalo de inicio de año.” Translated in English: “This donation of furniture and materials for preschool is heaven-sent, because the classrooms for the little ones require an investment to embellish them, which our school has not been able to do due to economic difficulties. Partners for A Greater Voice’s donations are welcome; it is an excellent beginning of the year gift.”
